As I was walking a crowded street, this man stopped me. He said, "Could I have some money for beer?" He then held up several dollars. I told him, "You better put your money away, someone will steal it." He responded, "I don't do cannabis or cocaine, cocaine is a rich man's drug." "That's good," I said with a smile. "What are you on right now?" He struggled for words... "Beer."
I could see an overwhelming sadness in his eyes as he started to talk about his family and how they left him. He told me he has no one. His story then went from a happy request for beer money, to his life and where he stands today.
I posted two photos, because I wanted to share that moment with you... from where he started out on a happy note, to where the conversation suddenly became real. Life, is sometimes overwhelmingly real. Some of those on the street drink their problems away. When the next day's sun arises, so do the problems. The cycle then starts over.
