When I ran into this man, he was standing on a side street in an industrial area of Nashville on a Sunday afternoon. Businesses were closed and no one was around. I parked about 100-feet away from him and noticed he was reading a Gideon Bible. As I approached on foot, he took his glasses off and looked at me. I said, "What are you reading," although I already knew the answer. He looked at me and calmly said, "the Bible." I then asked him a few questions as I took a few pictures.
Where do you sleep at night?
"Behind buildings and under bridges."
What brought you to Middle Tennessee?
"Change."
What do you want to do next in life?
"I want to save a little money and move to Africa or somewhere, I want to start again."
Do you have problems with drugs or alcohol?
"I'm trying to stay clean from alcohol, but I drink a little now and then. I know I shouldn't."
As I walked away he thanked me for visiting with him.
